Overtime points

• Apex’s Lindsay Hodge had two home runs in her team’s 16-0 win against Sanderson on Wednesday. The Cougars are off to a 2-0 start and have outscored teams 30-3.

• Middle Creek’s softball team scored a big win on Wednesday, defeating Greenville’s D.H. Conley High 7-1. Conley has won two 3A softball championships in recent years (2011 and 2013) but has moved up to 4A this year.

• Panther Creek’s 18-0 win against Rolesville, a new Wake County school with only freshmen and sophomores, on Feb. 27 might be one of the most lopsided girls soccer wins in state history. The NCHSAA mercy rule is a nine-goal differential either at halftime or any point after it. The Catamounts scored all 18 goals in the first half.
