Gene Watson concert

Route 55 Jazz Orchestra

Winter Concert Series

Meet the Artisan: Books as Art

‘The Golden Doorstop’

Raleigh Little Theatre’s Storytellers to Go! will perform Judy M. Dove’s play, “The Golden Doorstop,” for free at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex. Students will perform the play about a North Carolina 12-year-old finding the nation’s first gold mine. To register, call 919-387-2100.

Circus music

En Plein Air Paint-Off

The third annual En Plein Air Paint-Off will be from 2:30-7 p.m. Friday, April 11, during Art After Dark in downtown Fuquay-Varina. Artists will paint the local landscape.

A public auction of the paintings will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 7, on Vance Street. The top three winners’ paintings will be enlarged and placed on brick walls in the town’s historic district and added to the public art program organized by Fuquay-Varina Downtown and sponsored by Bob Barker, Inc.

Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition

Cary Visual Art’s Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition will begin July 18 and run though June 12, 2015, with the Best in Show winner announced July 18. There is an honorarium of $1,000 each for up to 12 finalists and $3,000 for one Best in Show winner.
