Overtime points

• Britney Smith has been named the head softball coach at Holly Springs High. She formerly coached at Smithfield-Selma. She will be Holly Springs’ fourth softball coach in five seasons.

• Cardinal Gibbons quarterback Shawn Stankavage committed to East Carolina last week. The senior threw for more than 4,000 yards and ran for more than 1,000. Vanderbilt is reportedly still recruiting him.
