Coat drive

East Cary Middle School, Adams Elementary School, Cary Elementary School and Cary High School are collecting coats to donate to the Salvation Army until Friday, Jan. 17.

Triangle Math and Science students compete in LEGO robotics

Triangle Math and Science Academy’s Cyber Tigers team participated in the FIRST LEGO League State Championship robotics competition for middle school students on Jan. 11 and 12 at North Carolina A&T State University. The team used LEGO bricks to build a model robotic flood shelter for the contest’s theme, “Nature’s Fury.”

Genesis Christian Preschool tours

Genesis United Methodist Church Christian Preschool will host tours for the 2014-15 school year at 10 a.m. Jan. 16 and 17 at 850 High House Road, Cary. Reservations are not required. For details, go to www.genesis-umc.org/web/ministry/children/preschool.

St. Michael School open house

The St. Michael School in Cary will host an open house from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. Tours are 6-7 p.m., an information session is from 7-7:30 p.m. The school is at 810 High House Road, Cary. For details, go to www.stmcary.org.

Thales Academy tours

Thales Academy of Apex will host tours for prospective students and families of the junior high and high school programs from 8-9 a.m. and the elementary school program from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 1177 Ambergate Station. For more information, go to www.thalesacademy.org.

IMProv at Cary High School

Students will perform in competitive IMProv shows at 7 p.m. one Friday a month through May in the drama studio at Cary High School, 638 Walnut St. Shows will be Jan. 24, Feb. 14, March 21, April 11 and May 16. Admission is $2.

Anxiety workshop

Dr. Aureen Wagner will lead a workshop for parents of kids with anxiety disorders or other problems with anxiety from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Davis Drive Middle School auditorium, 2100 Davis Drive, Cary. To register, go to bit.ly/1dkEWsM.

FAFSA Day

College financial aid officers and specialists will help high school seniors and their families submit their Free Application Federal Student Aid forms online during FAFSA Day, Saturday, Feb. 22, at State Employees’ Credit Union locations in Apex, Cary, Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs. Wrestling club for future Panther Creek students

Panther Creek High School athletics and CREW Wrestling will offer a wrestling program for students in third through eighth grade who plan to attend Panther Creek High School.
