Apex police have pictures but need names in $13,000 credit-card fraud

From staff reportsJanuary 15, 2014

— Police have pictures but not names of four people whom they want to question about more than $13,000 charged to stolen credit cards, and they hope the public can help them identify one or more of the quartet.

Someone snagged a woman’s credit cards from a Panera Bread restaurant on Dec. 10 and used them right away to buy merchandise at Target stores in Apex and Morrisville and at a Buy Buy Baby outlet in Morrisville, Capt. Ann Stephens said.

The pictures are from store security cameras.

In one, a woman labeled as the “subject” and a man labeled as “accomplice” are seen walking into a store.

In the second photo, a heavyset man is indicated as the “subject” and a second, much smaller person is the “accomplice.”

Stephens asked anyone who might have information about any of the four to Detective Stephen Russell at 919-249-1148 or text an anonymous tip to TIP411 using the keyword APEXPD.
