Raleigh News & ObserverJanuary 5, 2014

— The community gathered at Fred G. Bond Metro Park on Saturday to celebrate the official end of the Christmas season.

Diamante’s Estrella de la Esperanza (Star of Hope) Campaign hosted the Día de los Reyes Parade, or Three Kings Day Parade.

Diamante, which is based in Cary, aims to preserve and promote the Hispanic culture and heritage in North Carolina. The organization also helps needy Hispanic families.

The annual event marks the biblical story of the arrival of the three kings, or wise men, to baby Jesus. The holiday is celebrated in Latin America and Spain.

In Cary, participants gave toys and canned food to families in need.
