Overtime points

• Apex boys basketball took fourth in the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational’s Shavlik Randolph bracket. Middle Creek took seventh in the Summitt Hospitality bracket, but made a Holiday Invitational record 13 three-pointers in a 78-48 win against Columbia (S.C.) Hammond. Justin Tankelewicz had five three-pointers.

• Cary’s girls took fifth in the girls basketball portion of the Holiday Invitational, and senior Azura Stevens had a monster tournament. She tied the tournament record for most blocks in a game with seven and now has the two highest totals for rebounds in a game with 28 and 27. Her 79 rebounds for the tournament shattered the previous record of 52 held by Cary Christian graduate Dakota Dukes, and her 33 field goals for the tournament broke the record set last year by Cary Academy graduate Mickayla Sanders.

• Athens Drive’s boys picked up their first win in the seventh-place game of the South Granville Holiday Tournament’s Bojangles bracket. The Jaguars edged host South Granville 66-64.

• Green Hope’s boys took fourth in the South Granville Holiday Tournament’s Wynn Homes bracket. The Green Hope girls took third in the Holiday Hoopla at Eastern Alamance High.
