Christmas tree exhibit and auction

The Halle Cultural Arts Center’s sixth annual Christmas tree exhibit and auction to raise money for the Western Wake Crisis Ministry will be open until Friday, Dec. 20, at 237 N. Salem St., Apex.

‘The Toys Take Over Christmas’

Performances of “The Toys Take Over Christmas” and “Broadway Santa” will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at The Halle Cultural Arts Center, 237 N. Salem St., Apex. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for ages 16 and under at www.etix.com.

Christmas cantatas

Be a Santa to a Senior

Give gifts to local seniors who are alone or in need during the holidays with Be a Santa to a Senior. Take an ornament, listing a gift suggestion, from one of the program’s trees in Cary, Holly Springs or Morrisville. St. Francis United Methodist Church will host a Christmas cantata, “Love Came Down at Christmas,” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2965 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary. All are welcome.

Raleigh Boychoir Millenium Chorus

St. Francis United Methodist Church will host its 15th annual Live Nativity from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, and Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 2965 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary. Dinner is from 5-7 p.m. The Live Nativity, indoor nativity displays, live music and crafts for kids are from 6-8 p.m.

Advent study

Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church will host a study of “The Journey: Walking the Road to Bethlehem” by Adam Hamilton from 11 a.m.-noon or 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the church’s Session Room, 200 High Meadow Drive, Cary. Classes started Dec. 4. Evening sessions include a separate class for kids, and child care is available for both sessions with registration.

Blue Christmas Service

The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ’s Blue Christmas Service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at 1050 NW Maynard Road, Cary. The quiet, reflective service is for people coping with loss, grief, illness or other difficulty during the holidays. All are welcome, and child care is provided.

Candlelight service and sledding

Christmas Eve services at White Plains United Methodist Church

The contemporary service will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, in the Christian Life Center at the church, 313 SE Maynard Road, Cary. The traditional service will be at 7 p.m., the service of music and meditation at 9 p.m. and another traditional service at 11 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
