C-Tran offers free rides as part of food drive

— Passengers can ride the C-Tran public transportation system’s fixed routes for free Nov. 11-15 when they donate one non-perishable or canned food item.

Those who donate two or more items can ride the fixed-route system for free for all day.

Donations will go to the Dorcas Ministries food pantry in Cary to help needy families during the holiday season.

Donated items can include canned meat, tuna, soup, fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, uncooked pasta, dry cereal and boxed rice.

C-Tran’s fixed-route service runs from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and connects to Triangle Transit. For more information, go to www.townofcary.org or call 919-462-2080.
