Three Scouts earn Eagle rank

Holly Springs High School students and Troop 431 members Ryan Wing, Justin Woffinden and Porter Savoldi recently received their Eagle Scout rank, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting. Tar Heal Detachment 733 of the Marine Corps League gave each of the Scouts a Good Citizen Award during their Eagle Scout ceremony.

For his Eagle project, Wing built a pantry at the Women’s Center of Wake County and held a food drive to fill the pantry shelves.

Woffinden’s project also benefited the Women’s Center; he built benches for the center’s clients to safely wait for transportation.

Savoldi made a video for the Holly Springs Food Cupboard that explained the organization’s goal and encouraged others to help. To see his video, go to www.hsfoodcupboard.org.
