Diwali festival dazzles in Cary

October 21, 2013

Cary celebrated over the weekend, as many people gathered at Koka Booth Amphitheatre on Saturday for the annual Diwali festival.

Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is India’s largest holiday. The Hindu celebration marks the victory of good over evil and the beginning of the new year.

This year’s theme was “Darpan – Reflections of India.” Festivities included many performances, including a performance by Indian pop music star Alisha Chinai.

The event was presented by Hum Sub Inc. and Cary’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department.
