WakeMed Cary pharmacist elected to pharmacy board

Angela Smith, a manager of clinical pharmacy services at WakeMed Cary Hospital, was recently elected as an officer for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Smith was elected by her peers to serve as the secretary and treasurer for the ACCP’s Clinical Administration PRN. PRNs, or Practice and Research Networks, represent focused interest groups of ACCP members. The Clinical Administration PRN is a forum for addressing practice and academic issues related to clinical administration.

Cary man to receive Distinguished Citizen Award

Guy R. “Dick” Ladd of Cary will receive the 2013 Distinguished Citizen Award from The Boy Scouts of America Crosswinds District. A banquet is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at McGregor Downs Country Club, 430 St. Andrews Lane, Cary.

Ladd was a charter member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church and the Cary Rotary Club, and he helped found Cary Visual Arts. He previously served on the Cary Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce board.
