Boys’ soccer:

Fuquay-Varina

at Holly Springs

6:30 p.m. Monday

The Bengals have been steadily improving, and Holly Springs has gone 3-1-1 in a nonconference schedule that includes some of the state’s top programs. This highlights the start of Southwest Wake Athletic Conference league play. Also playing Monday are Middle Creek at Apex, Athens Drive at Panther Creek and Cary at Green Hope. On Wednesday, Apex travels to Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs is at Athens Drive, Panther Creek is at Cary and Green Hope is at Middle Creek.

Volleyball:

Green Hope

at Athens Drive

5:30 p.m. Tuesday

The Jaguars are off to a nice start in SWAC play, while injuries appear to finally be catching up to Green Hope. Also playing Tuesday in the SWAC is Apex at Cary, Holly Springs at Middle Creek and Fuquay-Varina at Panther Creek. On Thursday, Athens Drive is at Middle Creek, Cary is at Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs is at Green Hope. Apex at Panther Creek will be played Monday instead of Thursday.

Boys’ soccer:

Wake County Cup final

at Cardinal Gibbons

8 p.m. Saturday

Apex squares off against Sanderson for the inaugural Wake County Cup title, hosted by Cardinal Gibbons. Gibbons and Franklin Academy play in the fifth-place game at 4:30 p.m. while Garner and Heritage will meet in the third-place game at 6:15 p.m.
