CARY — The driver of a vehicle that struck a Cary High School student outside the school on Aug. 27 will not face criminal charges, the town announced Thursday.
The decision to not file charges came after an investigation and discussions with legal officials, according to a news release from the town of Cary.
The student, 17-year-old Islom Juraev, was struck as he made his way across a crosswalk on Walnut Street. He was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh with non-life-threatening injuries, the news release states. The driver was not injured.
