4 p.m. Tuesday

Panther Creek is loaded, but East Chapel Hill is coached by recent N.C. High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame inductee Lindsey Linker. East Chapel Hill also visits Green Hope on Thursday in what should be a closely contested match.



at Holly Springs

5:30 p.m. Thursday

The Southwest Wake Athletic Conference opens up league play, with this match as one of the highlights. Other conference openers include Cary at Green Hope, Middle Creek at Apex and Athens Drive at Panther Creek.

6:30 p.m. Thursday

The biggest test of the season so far for the two-time defending state champion Falcons comes against a Sanderson team it met in last year’s third round of the playoffs. Green Hope was ranked No. 1 in The News & Observer area rankings at the end of last season, while Sanderson was No. 3.
