It’s that time of year again – the start of high school football season, when stadium lights shine, student-athletes show off their skills and fans cheer on their teams.

Middle Creek High School will face off against Garner on Friday as part of the season kickoff. One of the biggest rivalries around, the game is sure to draw plenty of spectators. And Middle Creek has something to prove – the team fell to Garner last year, 46-29.

Coming off a winning record of 11-2 last year, the Mustangs are expected to have a strong team once again. But they have plenty of competition in the new Southwest Wake Athletic Conference, formerly known as the Tri-9.
