CARY — After receiving tips from residents, police arrested a Cary man suspected of stealing cash from two local businesses.
Joshua Daniels Jacobs, 28, of Cheswick Place was charged with two counts of misdemeanor larceny.
Police believe Jacobs stole money from a cash register at Walgreens at 1210 Kildaire Farm Road during the day on July 26. He is also suspected of swiping money an hour later from a register at an Exxon station at 1720 Walnut St.
The town of Cary issued a statement Wednesday asking for the public’s help to identify the man, who was seen on video footage at one of the crime scenes.
“The speedy arrest of this smooth criminal was only possible because of the tips we received from our community,” said Capt. Don Hamilton of the criminal investigations unit. “We’re thankful for
this relationship as we all work together to keep Cary one of the safest places to live, work and raise a family.”
