Fantasy Gamer’s Conclave convention

The Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux will host the last day of its fifth annual gaming convention at Hopewell Academy, 101 Preston Executive Drive, Cary.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Autism Society of N.C. The convention includes games like Munchkin, Pathfinder, GURPS, Dungeons & Dragons and more. Events include a charity auction, an Anachronistic Tea and the Retro Video Game Museum.

Admission is $10.

‘The Art of Screenwriting’

Local expert Ian Finley will lead discussions on writing screenplays at 6:30 p.m. at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex. To register, call the library at 919-387-2100.

‘Tea and History’

A “Tea and History” program will be at 2 p.m. at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex. Sherry Monahan, genealogist and author of “Images of America: Apex,” will talk about the growth of the town.

Participants should bring their favorite tea cup. Registration is required; seating is limited to 25 people. To register, call the library at 919-387-2100.

‘Money Smart’

Savvy Savers Couponers will offer a lesson on finding, organizing and using coupons at 6:30 p.m. at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex. Attendees should bring clipped, unexpired coupons to trade in a coupon swap. To register, call the library at 919-387-2100.

‘The Hollow Crown’

“The Hollow Crown,” a show about the kings and queens of England by hiSTORYstage, will be performed at 6:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 1 to 4, at the Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park, 801 High House Road, Cary. A $10 donation is requested.

Depot Concert Series at The Halle

The Kickin’ Grass Band will perform at 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Historic Train Depot at 220 N. Salem St., Apex, as part of the free Depot Concert Series. Alcohol and pets are prohibited.

‘Threads’

The Cary Playwrights’ Forum will present “Threads,” a showcase of plays from Carolina Preserve, at 7:30 p.m. in the Marcus Dry Room of the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave.
