A sweet deal – but not for taxpayers

Thanks for the story about Fuquay-Varina’s former town manager, Jon Barlow. This is what gives government a bad name. I would love to resign and get six months’ pay.

Town Commissioner Ed Ridpath was quoted as saying it’s like a marriage that ends and no one wants it to end badly.

He is correct; it’s not ending badly for the town or Barlow – just the taxpayers that will be picking up the tab and the $62,400 to pay for temporary help.

Barlow and Andy Hedrick (who is serving as interim town manager) – nothing personal, take the money and run.

Current officials, don’t expect my vote. I can’t believe any of you thought this was a good idea.
