Karleen Gross: Glad I don’t live there

Glad I don’t live there

I read the article in The Cary News regarding the Cary Town Council’s vote to continue a ban on string lights. I would like to point out that the quotes from council members Ed Yerha and Jennifer Robinson highlight the arrogance in the thinking and decision-making process of the Town Council.

Yerha: “I didn’t hate them until I saw them all over town.”

Robinson: “They (homeowners and people in general) may not have the skill involved to actually make them look good.”

Mr. Yerha’s opinion of lights dictates that an individual homeowner’s opinion doesn’t count. Ms. Robinson’s opinion of a homeowner’s ability to maintain their own yard dictates that the homeowner doesn’t even have the option to try.

This is the arrogance of thinking that makes me very glad to NOT be a Cary resident.
