CARY — Police have charged a 16-year-old boy with making a pornographic video with an unwitting 15-year-old girl, and they said it was discovered by an adult looking at a social media website.
An arrest warrant charges that Rayquan Williams of 2701 Community Drive in Raleigh “did use, employ, induce, coerce, encourage and facilitate” having the girl engage in sexual acts so he could make the video on June 2.
Police arrested Williams on Monday on a charge of first-degree facilitating the sexual exploitation of a minor after they met him at the Raleigh police Downtown District station, according to an arrest report.
They also charged him with resisting a public officer on June 2 by giving a detective “false and misleading information” about what had happened.
Capt. Don Hamilton, head of Cary detectives, said the girl was unaware that anything had been recorded, and the video came to light when an adult who knows her came across it on a social media website.
Williams’ bail was set at $50,000, and he was being held for a court appearance Tuesday.
Williams told officers that he is a student at Enloe High School.
