Whitney Allyce Rains and Roshan Phillip Taheri, both of Cary, N.C., were married on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Cary. The Reverend Doctor H. William Green officiated at the double ring ceremony. A reception followed at Cypress Manor.

The bride is the daughter of Glenn and Kaye Rains of Cary. She is the granddaughter of Hallie B. Harris and the late Louis H. Harris of Raleigh, N.C. and the late Hiram C. “Pete” and Margie Rains of Kenly, N.C.

The groom is the son of Dr. Javad and Pamela Taheri of Cary. He is the grandson of the late Frederick J. and Margaret B. Seufert of Bahama, N.C. and the late Ali and Nargess Taheri of Tehran, Iran.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of Meredith College with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University. She is an operating room nurse at Duke-Raleigh Hospital.

The groom received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University. He is employed at SAS as a data model architect.

Following their honeymoon to Hawaii, the couple resides in Morrisville.
