Greg Hill and Dr. Bill Bixler formed the Center for Emotional and Sexual Health at 130 Iowa Lane, Suite 203 in Cary. The center offers specialized mental-health counseling for those struggling with sexual addiction and relationship issues.

The Chef’s Academy in Morrisville is the recipient of the community service award from the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities. The announcement follows the school’s recent recognition as the 2013 President’s Higher Education Honor Roll Award winner by the Corporation of National and Community Service.

Wendy Heinzmann, director of the enCompass resident wellness program at Glenaire continuing-care retirement community in Cary, won the statewide Resident Services Award at the LeadingAge North Carolina annual conference held May 13-16.

Allstate agency owners Jaclyn Lucas of the Lucas Agency and Ravi Reddy of Reddy Insurance have been designated as Allstate Premier Agencies for 2013. Both agencies are located in Cary.

Drew Caffrey will serve as chairman of the 2013 Triangle Heart Walk Community Teams. Caffrey is owner-operator of the Chick-fil-A at Cary Town Center. The Triangle Heart Walk will be held Sunday, Sept. 22, at the PNC Arena in Raleigh.

Home-based business entrepreneurs will hold a sidewalk sale to benefit the American Red Cross’s Oklahoma Tornado Relief from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Brewster’s Pub, 1885 Lake Pine Drive, Cary.
