Local high school seniors earn Eagle Scout rank

Four local graduating high school seniors from Boy Scout Troop 131 have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting.

At their joint Eagle Court of Honor, they additionally received the Marine Corps League Good Citizenship Award presented by Commandant Andrew Blizzard of the Tar Heel Detachment # 733.

McKay Bleak is a graduate of Panther Creek High School. For his Eagle Scout project, Bleak carried out a painting project for the Infinity Ballet Studio.

Ryan Connor, Derrick Conrad and David Daniel are all graduates of Apex High School. For their Eagle Scout projects, Connor built bookshelves for the Mariposa School for Children with Autism; Conrad built an outdoor classroom at Horton Middle School; and Daniel provided first-aid kits for the Western Wake Crisis Ministry.

Boy Scout Troop 131 is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Apex.
