The Dog Days of June in Cary

Raleigh News & ObserverJune 3, 2013

— Woof.

Canines of all breeds and sizes had their run of Fred G. Bond Metro Park on Saturday as the town of Cary celebrated the annual Dog Days of June.

Some dogs showed off their Frisbee-catching skills and competed for a spot in the World Canine Disc Championship. Others took it easy, lounging in doggie pools.

Dog Days is full of fun and games, and plenty of cute pooches, but it’s also about educating local pet owners. Cary Animal Control hosted a rabies and micro-chipping clinic, and vendors and pet adoption and rescue groups were on hand.

And Fido had a chance to sparkle and shine – the Cary Teen Council offered a dog-washing service.
