Cary police search for bank robbery suspects

From staff reportsJune 3, 2013

— Police were searching Monday for two men suspected of robbing a Vantage South Bank.

The suspects appeared to carry semi-automatic guns into the bank at 1005 High House Road around 9:10 a.m., according to police reports. They left on foot and may have gotten into a red car.

Police and witnesses were puzzled by the men’s outfits: They were wearing body-length black robes.

“They haven't been able to put a specific name to it. I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Cary Police Capt. Don Hamilton.

The men also wore white sneakers, black gloves, face masks and scarves.

Anyone with information on the robbery should call the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012.
