Victor Quistorff: Bigger needs go ’round

Bigger needs go ’round

I’m writing regarding the two roundabouts being installed on Chatham Street on either side of downtown Cary.

It seems so wasteful to spend thousands of dollars on what appears to be a useless endeavor. In my opinion, it would be more prudent to widen the shoulders of Chapel Hill Road for bikers. At present this road is extremely unsafe to bicyclists.

Another desperate need is installation of benches and shelters from sun and rain for commuters waiting for C-Tran buses.

I realize this is in hindsight; however, in the future, I hope that our tax dollars are spent on something practical to directly benefit the residents of Cary.
