Cary Boy Scout receives Eagle Scout

Samuel Stephen Gay was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the Boy Scouts of America’s highest rank, during a Court of Honor on February 24. For his Eagle Scout project, he led a group of Boy Scouts and adults in the design and construction of a trash/recycling receptacle at the St. Michael School Fields in Cary.

Gay is the son of Chuck and Cindy Gay and is a sophomore at Cardinal Gibbons High School. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 216 in Cary.

Cary residents place first in Phi Beta Lambda conference

Louisburg College students Abdul Caesar and Kyle May both placed first in the Integrated Marketing Campaign category at North Carolina’s Phi Beta Lambda business fraternity conference held April 11-13 in Charlotte.

Caesar also placed fifth in the Emerging Business Issues category. May also placed fourth in the Sales Presentations category and is Louisburg College’s 2013 Outstanding Phi Beta Lambda Member.

Caesar is the son of Alnisa Caesar of Cary. May is the son of Daryl and Kathryn May of Cary.
