Baseball

Fuquay-Varina Competition

A free Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition for local youth will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at South Park Fields 1 and 2. Boys and girls will be divided into four age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14. They will have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including team championships at Major League ballparks and the national finals at the 2013 MLB All-Star Game.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and have their parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition. For details, contact Adam Hairr at 919-552-1430.

Basketball

Holly Springs Adult

Practices begin the week of June 3, and games begin the week of June 10. Games will be played at the newly renovated W.E. Hunt Recreation Center gym. The league is for men who will be at least 18 at the start of the season.

Registration is Monday, May 6, to Friday, May 24. Team registrations only. The deadline to have a player add and sign a roster is noon Monday, June 10.

Football

Fuquay-Varina Youth Tackle

Each league will have three age divisions (6-8, 8-10 and 10-12) with weight restrictions of 40-150 pounds. All participants will register into one pool and be evaluated by coaches during conditioning week on Aug. 5. Registration begins Wednesday, May 1, and ends Saturday, July 20. Fees are $60 for residents; $85 for nonresidents. For details, visit www.fuquay-varina.org.

Tennis

Cary Adult Organized Play

The Cary Tennis Park maintains an interest board. If you would like to play but do not have an opponent, stop by the Cary Tennis Park office and add your name to the board to find other players who are looking for matches.
