Energy alternatives

Recent articles about environmentally friendly energy alternatives give me hope that our area can be a leader for new technologies to enhance our quality of life now and in the future.

Wind energy down east, solar energy public/private partnerships, the recent installation of electric-car charging stations in Morrisville, Cary and Raleigh, and LED light bulb manufacturing in Durham for residential use are all important investments in our region’s energy future.

I applaud the efforts of our leaders to be early adopters of these technologies despite the inherent risk of embracing change. That is what leadership is all about.
