RALEIGH - A Cary attorney was being held at the Wake County Detention Center and a Holly Springs dispatcher for an oil company was free on bail after police in their home towns arrested each Thursday on charges of having child pornography on their computers.

Mark Kevin Seifert, 57, of 204 Crimmons Circle in Cary was charged with nine counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

In arrest warrants, Cary police alleged that Seifert had nine photographs that showed minors engaged in sexual acts with each other or a minor and an adult.

Seifert also is a sole practitioner who opened his office in 1994, the page says.

His background states that he worked for the Independent Petroleum Association of America in Washington, D.C., after holding legal jobs at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

After surrendering at the detention center Thursday morning, Seifert was being held in lieu of $270,000 bail pending a court appearance Friday.

In Holly Springs, police filed 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor against Christopher Joseph Bova, 44, of 620 County Lane.

Bova told police he is a dispatcher for an oil company in Selma.

The warrants alleged Bova had still pictures and video files on his computer.

Bova was freed on $175,000 bail pending a court appearance.
