National Multiple Sclerosis Society fundraiser

Residents can buy bricks to be placed at the Park West 14 theater in Morrisville as part of a fundraiser by the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Bricks are $75 and can be engraved with the text of your choice. Granite squares measuring 16-by-16 inches are also available for $1,500. All proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Carolinas Chapter.

‘Mill as Muse’ exhibit

Historic Yates Mill County Park, 4620 Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh, is accepting artwork for the seventh annual “Mill As Muse” exhibit. Contest themes will focus on Yates Mill, park flora and fauna, and people participating in park activities. All entries are due before 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3.

Winners will be announced at the Feb. 9 exhibit reception, and prizes will be awarded. For information, call 919-856-6675.

Holly Springs Arts Festival

The first annual Holly Springs Community Arts Festival will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, Wednesday, Feb. 6 and Thursday, Feb. 7; 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Holly Springs Cultural Center, 300 W. Ballentine St. The event will feature five days of classes, exhibits, vendors and performers in a wide range of arts categories. To register for classes during the festival, call 919-567-4000.

The festival will culminate in a gala fundraising event from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9. There will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, raffle and special presentation and exhibit from Jonathan Daniels of JD Wire Art. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Holly Springs Arts Council.

Cary’s daddy-daughter dance

The town of Cary will host its annual daddy-daughter dance for fathers and their daughters ages 4-12 from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, and Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Cary Senior Center, 120 Maury O’Dell Place.

Registration is now open; dads and daughters are required to pre-register. Cost is $17 per person for residents and $22 for nonresidents. Fees include a photograph of the couple, live music entertainment and refreshments.

Teen anti-Valentine’s Day party

An anti-Valentine’s Day party for teens in grades six through 10 will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex. Raleigh-Wake Senior Games seeking participants

The 2013 Raleigh-Wake Senior Games will be held during the month of April at various sites throughout Wake County. Senior Games is an athletic and artistic competition for senior adults age 55 and older, featuring over 30 sports events, as well as competition in visual, literary, craft and performing arts. Medal winners in the Raleigh-Wake Senior Games will be able to compete in the North Carolina Senior Games State Finals in the fall.
