Equal umbrellas

Instead of the Wake County school board and Board of Commissioners’ arguing about the correct amount of “rainy day funds,” the Board of Education should agree to adopt the same percentage that the Board of Commissioners uses for its “rainy day fund,” which is surely based on good government accounting practices. In that way, the two boards could spend their time discussing public education quality for students, because the Board of Education’s percentage would always equal the percentage adopted by the Board of Commissioners for its own “rainy day fund.”

It’s all public money. Why do they want to make it so complicated?
