Boating Safety Course

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Cary Flotilla 9-11, will host a Coast Guard-approved eight-class course for power boaters titled “Boating Skills and Seamanship” at 7 p.m. at Bond Park Community Center, 150 Metro Park Drive, Cary. Trail Tales: Snowflake Bentley

As part of the storytime series “Trail Tales,” the book “Snowflake Bentley” by Jacqueline Briggs Martin and Mary Azarian will be read from 10 to 11 a.m. at the American Tobacco Trail, 1309 New Hill-Olive Chapel Road, New Hill. Center for Volunteer Caregiving Fundraiser

The Center for Volunteer Caregiving will hold its annual event, the Red Carpet Rendezvous, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Prestonwood Country Club, 300 Prestonwood Parkway, Cary. There will be jazz performances by John Brown Entertainment and Carol Ingbretsen, heavy hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auction, wall of wine raffle and testimonials from the community. Ralph and Daphne Ashworth will be the honorary chairs. Tickets are $75 each, and proceeds will go to help seniors and adults with disabilities remain safe at home. For details, call 919-460-0567.

Cary Ballet Daddy-Daughter Dance

The Cary Ballet Company will host a daddy-daughter dance fundraiser from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at 3791 N.W. Cary Parkway. The event for fathers and their daughters ages 4-12 will include games, refreshments, door prizes and a party gift. Couples are $25; $10 for second daughter and $5 per additional child.
