Three Boy Scouts in Troop 316 in Apex received the rank of Eagle Scout in December and January:

• Matthew Wassel is the son of Peter and Lynn Wassel. For his Eagle Scout project, he planned, built and installed four picnic tables at Apex Community Park.

•  Seth Bartholomew is the son of Kathy and John Bartholomew. For his Eagle Scout project, he constructed two 10-foot benches for a playground at Merritt’s Chapel at United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill.

•  Austin Jones is the son of Denise and Dwight Jones. For his Eagle Scout project, he lead a group of youth and adults in the construction of two flower beds and planted 40-plus bushes and plants at the entrance to the playground at Merritt’s Chapel at United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill.
