Local Cary student earns Eagle Scout

Dawson Tripp of Cary has earned his Eagle Scout rank, the highest rank in Boy Scouting.

Tripp was a founding member of Boy Scout Troop 613 at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary where he served as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. He is the troop’s first Eagle Scout and has earned 25 merit badges. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow.

Tripp is the son of Reid and Angela Tripp and a junior at Athens Drive High School.
