A bad plan

A letter writer was so right with her recent comments on the Mayton Inn planned for downtown Cary. No, it doesn’t look like Academy Street. It’s not even close to what should be built in that area. And I have a few questions of my own:

•  Plans call for 45 rooms, which means 60-plus cars, including staff. Where’s the parking? I sure don’t see anything close to that on the plans.

•  Can someone explain moving the Rood house and Mayton house, which Cary owns, to what will now be private property?

•  I understand that The Carying Place has found a new home. Is the town working with the Downtown Farmers Market to find a new place?

•  Selling land that was purchased as future park land, then asking for more money for parks – awkward timing, don’t you think?

A good idea, but not a good plan.
