Sisters in Support

“Sisters in Support,” a breast cancer support group for women who have had breast cancer or are currently undergoing treatment, meets at 7 p.m. every second Tuesday of the month at the White Plains United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, 313 S.E. Starfish Support Group

Jewish Women’s Circle Meeting

The Jewish Women’s Circle will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the home of Tracy Gritz, 5424 Merion Station Drive, Apex. The theme is “Be Organized” and will explore the Kabbalah of time management. Gritz will offer tips and techniques to help decrease stress and increase productivity. GriefShare – Surviving the Holidays

White Plains United Methodist Church will hold a GriefShare “Surviving the Holidays” event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 17 or from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, in Room C203 at 313 S.E. St. Michael’s Thanksgiving Basket Project

St. Michael’s Catholic Church will hold its annual Thanksgiving Basket Project at noon Saturday, Nov. 17, and from 7:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 18, at 804 High House Road, Cary. The church asks that participants make food and/or monetary donations at the church office or during Mass. Concerts for a Cause Jazz Concert

The Campbell University Jazz Band and vocalists will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 at Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church, 200 High Meadow Drive, Cary. Community Thanksgiving Service to benefit nonprofit organization

The annual Community Thanksgiving Service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Bazzle Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 1228 Wilbon Road, Fuquay-Varina. Multiple pastors from various faith traditions, as well as choir members from across the community, will join together for this worship service. The presiding pastor of this year’s service will be the Rev. Chad Neal of Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church.

The Community Thanksgiving Service will help Fuquay-Varina and Willow Spring families in crises. The offering will go in its entirety to emergency financial nonprofit Southern Wake Faith Community.

Christmas Pageant

Children ages 3 through fifth-grade can rehearse for the church’s Christmas pageant every Wednesday from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. at White Plains United Methodist Church, 313 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary. The Christmas pageant will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 12. For information, email children@wpumc.org.

Essay Contest

The Knights of Columbus Council 12119, in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, an International Catholic Family Fraternal Service Organization, is holding a Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest.
