Free Flu Clinic

Fuquay-Varina Downtown Chili Cook-Off

As part of the Day in Downtown Festival, the 10th annual Downtown Chili Cook-Off will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in historic downtown Fuquay-Varina. There will be a first place prize of $500, a second place prize of $300 and a third place prize of $150. All chili entries can be tasted for $5. All proceeds will benefit revitalization efforts in downtown Fuquay-Varina.

Special Halloween Storytime

A special Halloween storytime for children will be at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 760 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary. The book, “The Monsters Monster” by Patrick McDonnell will be read. Come in costume for tricks, treats and storytime.

Program About Ghosts

A program titled, “Do you Believe in Ghosts” will be at 2 p.m. at the West Regional Library, 4000 Louis Stephens Drive, Cary. Meet ghost hunters. For details, call 919-463-8500.

Morrisville Spooktacular Trail Walk

The town of Morrisville’s Spook-tacular Haunted Trail will be from 6 to 10 p.m. at Morrisville Community Park. The early portion of the evening will feature a family friendly trail with mild scares from 6 to 8 p.m. From 8 to 10 p.m., the trail will become spookier and will be for adults and children ages 10 and older. The line will stop forming at 9:30 p.m.
