The 411 on phones

I would love to see an article that tells people what protocol is when finding a cell phone. It appears that once a battery is dead, people are clueless as to what to do with a found phone. Having recently lost a Droid Razr and calling around to find it, I found that restaurants, shops and even the police department have a stash of uncharged phones.

With cell phones costing us hundreds of dollars, and people using them to run their lives, shouldn’t there be a procedure we should all be aware of? There are a lot of good people who turn in lost phones, and sadly the phones just sit in a pile waiting to be found.

My phone’s out there somewhere, if only someone knew to call Verizon and give the ID number.
