Apex High School

The Apex High School Cougar Club will hold its 12th annual Cougar Club barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Apex High School. Athens Drive High School

The Athens Drive High School band will hold a barbecue fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Swift Creek Community Center, 6221 Yates Mill Pond Road, Raleigh. Cost is $8 and includes barbecue pork, fried chicken, hush puppies, slaw, potatoes and sweet tea. Desserts will be $1. Delivery is available to local businesses with an order of six or more plates. Cub Scout Pack 444

Green Hope High School

Morrisville Police Officer Carl Rodrigues presented to all 272 students of the Jordan Driving School at Green Hope High School this summer. Rodrigues focused on basic driving habits using real world examples.

Middle Creek High School

The Middle Creek High School varsity cheerleaders will hold a cheerleading clinic from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. Participants will learn cheers/chants, dances, tumbling, stunting and jumps, and cheer at the football game on Friday, Sept. 28. Cost is $45 in advance or $50 at the door. Pre-registration is due by Friday, Sept. 14. To register, contact Coach Yarman at tyarman@wcpss.net.

Miller-Motte College

Miller-Motte College in Cary will hold its Fall Fest Career Kickoff Party from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 2205 Walnut St. Tour the campus, play a little root beer pong or corn hole, watch the battle of the programs and theatrical makeup and team spirit contests, enjoy the student chili cook-off, MMC balloons and themed face painting for the kids.
