A job search specialist will be available from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex. The specialist will assist with resume and job hunting. On Thursdays, a Wake Tech expert will help with the online application process and job hunting online.

Is Fuquay-Varina Ready for the Future

A town meeting called “Is Fuquay-Varina Ready for the Future” based on the 2010 U.S. Census will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center. American Planning Association President Mitch Silver will share his insights on demographic and social trends to help Fuquay-Varina prepare to meet the needs of future generations and new economic opportunities.

Attendees will learn how to make the transition to business ownership through franchising, about local resources that can help them in finding and starting the right business, and traditional and alternative forms of business financing in a tight credit environment. Fundraiser Event

The Western Wake Farmers’ Market will hold a Seasonal Small Plates and Wine Pairings fundraiser from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Umstead Hotel and Spa, 100 Woodland Pond Drive, Cary. Award-winning Executive Chef Scott Crawford will prepare seasonal small plates using a variety of locally-grown ingredients from vendors at WWFM. There will also be a silent auction.
