Joseph Elmer Woodell, 54 died suddenly Saturday, July 7.

Born February 27, 1958, Joe was a long-time Apex resident and affectionately known as the "Tomato Man" for his delicious homegrown tomatoes. Past president of the Cary Farmers Market and a loyal Carolina Tarheel fan, Joe will be missed by his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Jack S. Woodell, Joe is survived by his mother, Judith Tingen Woodell; brother Jimmie Woodell(Nicole); and sisters Cyndy Lovic(Mitchell);

Cathie Pendergraft(George); Carol Woodell; and Chris Young(Paul). Also surviving are his companion, Susan P. Harrod, and 20 nieces and nephews.

A memorial servive for Joe will be planned at a future date at the families' request. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charitable organization of choice that best honors your relationship with Joe and his family. Arrangements by Apex Funeral Home.
