S.A.S. Helping Hearts Walk-A-Thon

The S.A.S. Helping Hearts team, consisting of middle and elementary school students, will hold a walk-a-thon for St. Jude Hospital at 8 a.m. at Morrisville Community Park. Zombie Movie Night

Devil’s Ridge Charity Golf Classic

The Men’s Golf Association of Devil’s Ridge Golf Club will hold the eighth annual Devil’s Ridge Charity Golf Classic at 9 a.m. at 5107 Linksland Drive, Holly Springs. Proceeds will go to the Prostate Cancer Coalition of North Carolina. There will be $1,800 in team prizes, raffle tickets and a silent auction. To register, call 919-285-3693 or 919-372-9409.

Iron Chef Competition

Cooks of all ages are invited to compete in Fuquay-Varina’s Iron Chef Competition from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Fuquay-Varina Community Library, 133 S. Fuquay Ave. Make your creation at home and bring it to the library for judging. For the secret ingredient, call 919-557-2788.

Nocturnal Animals of Umstead Park

Children ages six to 10 can meet Billy Hartness, a park ranger at Umstead State Park, to learn about the nocturnal animals that live in the park from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Cary Community Library, 310 S. Academy St. For information, call 919-460-3350.

Movies By Moonlight

WakeMed Cary Hospital presents Movies By Moonlight at 8 p.m. at Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary. The movie “Secretariat” will be shown. Tickets are $3 for adults and free for children 12 and under. For details, visit boothamphitheatre.com.

Movies in the Park

Movies will be shown every Friday beginning at dusk in Falcon Park in Fuquay-Varina. There will be free popcorn and drinks. The movie “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” will be shown this week.
