WakeMed Health and Hospitals and Cary Visual Art have partnered to bring works of art to patients and visitors at the Reflection Gallery at WakeMed Cary Hospital. The gallery was dedicated on June 29 and will feature approximately ten works of art by local artists that will rotate on a quarterly basis.

The Morrisville Chamber of Commerce will hold “Business Tool Box: Cash Flow” from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at the White Ventures Chamber Building, 260 Town Hall Drive, Suite A. S&A Cherokee, a full-service communications company based in Cary, has hired David Morrison and Jim Sleeper. Morrison will work at S&A Cherokee as junior webmaster and Sleeper will work as graphic designer for Auto Remarketing NewsMagazine and SubPrime Auto Finance News.

Railinc Corp. in Cary has hired Carrie Rawson as customer support representative, Doug Sanders as quality assurance engineer and Kristen Sandstrom as director of human resources.

Kudos

For the second consecutive year, the nursing area at Glenaire, a nonprofit continuing care retirement community located in Cary, received the highest possible rating following an annual survey by the N.C. Department of Health Service Regulation.

Cary resident Dr. Valerie Sabol earned the $10,000 BAYADA Award for Technological Innovation in Nursing Education, presented by Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions. Sabol was acknowledged for her significant contributions to the field of nursing via the use of new technology.

Philanthropy

The 1 in 8 Foundation, recently named the fastest growing early detection charity in the U.S. and based in Cary, is looking for used pillow cases and sheets for an art project to help raise money for people with cancer.
