Middle Creek’s Allison Geiner and Holly Springs’ Erica Nunn were each honored by the N.C. Softball Coaches Association for their standout performances in their senior year.
Geiner, a rising freshman at UNC-Greensboro, was named co-player of the year for the 4A East along with Drew Dickson from Wilmington Ashley. Nunn, a rising freshman at South Florida, was pitcher of the year for the 4A East.
Geiner hit .494 this season with 44 hits, six doubles, four triples, 23 RBIs and 30 stolen bases.
Nunn had a 0.51 ERA this year, striking out 334 batters in 179 innings pitched. She gave up just 13 earned runs, going 22-5 with 12 shutouts and three no-hitters.
Nunn also batted .612 with 49 hits, 36 RBIs, five doubles, six triples and three home runs.
Also named to the all-state team was Apex sophomore Lindsay Hodge and senior Elizabeth Margagliotti, Fuquay-Varina seniors Hannah Wallace and Alyssa White, Green Hope junior Lexi Ross, Lee County sophomore Chandler Patterson and junior Nikki Hoover and Middle Creek freshman Megan Walker.
