•  Finding her credit cards declined, a woman attempted to steal two Barnes & Noble “Nook” e-readers last week, according to police reports. Natasha Kreig, 21, of Fuquay-Varina, was stopped in the store after using pliers to remove an anti-theft device from the items. She was charged with felony shoplifting and resisting arrest last Wednesday. She appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant and fought a police officer, the reports state.

•  Rony Alberto Rosa-Martinez was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon after stabbing another man during a fight at Village Greenway Apartments last Wednesday, according to police reports. Rosa-Martinez, 26, who lives at 1014 G Village Greenway, is accused of instigating the fight, police reports state. The victim was taken to WakeMed Raleigh with non-life threatening injuries.

•  A Cary police officer, called to investigate a “suspicious” group of people on Foxbrier Lane, managed to convince all five suspects not to flee. The officer then found a baggie with cocaine and morphine pills hidden beneath a car. Andrew Everett Gintis, 18, of 502 Bridewell Court in Cary, faces two felony drug possession charges.

•  Cary police received reports of forcible-entry burglaries at the following locations between June 2 and June 9: the 200 block of Michigan Avenue; the 600 block of Appledown Drive; the 200 block of Yorkhill Drive.

•  Police received a report of an unforced entry burglary on the 0-100 block of Winding Pine Trail in the week before June 5.
