Cary AcademySue P. Tombes of Cary Academy was named the N.C. Center for the Advancement of Teaching 2011-2012 Robert E. Bridges Honored Educator Scholar at a NCCAT seminar. Mike J. Hopkins of East Cary Middle School also attended the seminar.Holly Springs High SchoolThe installation of officers for the Holly Springs High School Interact Club was held on May 23 by Rotarian William Rousseau of the Holly Springs Rotary Club. Officers installed include Emilee Winter as president; Gillian Fortier as vice president; Alberto Quieraga as secretary; Max Noordeloos as treasurer and Shelby Hayes as Sgt. at Arms.Winter had earlier been awarded the Rotary Youth Leadership Award which conducted its leadership training program in April.Recognized for their accomplishments in 2011-12, and discharged from further Interact Club responsibilities for the current school year were Madison Hayes, president; Cailey Munana, vice president; Emilee Winter, secretary; Shelby Hayes, treasurer; Max Noordeloos, Sgt. at Arms; and committee chairs Katie McNally, Sophia Potepalov, Gillian Fortier and Cameron Martin.
