Cary student awarded N.C. State University Park Scholarship

N.C. State University has selected Allison Grey Menius of Cary as one of 45 Park Scholars. Park Scholarships support the full cost of education and include opportunities for enrichment activities such as grants for undergraduate research and study abroad.

Menius is the daughter of Alan and Deborah Menius and attends Athens Drive High School. She is a Girl Scout, a volunteer with the Special Olympics and the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award.

Local groups perform at Disney

Students from the following groups recently became stars of their own Disney show as part of the Disney Performing Arts Program:

• Apex and Green Hope High Schools Orchestra performed on April 13

• Apex Middle School “Cougar” Chorale performed on April 28

• Lufkin Road Middle School Concert Chorus performed on April 28

• Green Hope High School “Voices of Hope” Choir performed on April 20-21

• Athens Drive High School Marching Band performed on April 5

• Athens Drive High School Symphonic Band performed on April 3

• Athens Drive High School Orchestra performed on April 28
