Cary Police are investigating an assault with sexual motive alleged to have occurred at the Quiznos sandwich shop at 1246 N.W. Maynard Road. An employee told police Thursday that a coworker had touched him or her inappropriately but over the clothing. Police are investigating and have withheld the name of the victim because of the nature of the incident.
The Cary Police Department charged an employee of the Country Inn and Suites with siphoning off guests' loyalty-program points for his own gain. According to police reports, Douglas Nathaniel Ballenger put $204 worth of guests' points into his own account. Ballenger, 32, of 1002 Carolina Pines Ave. in Raleigh, allegedly committed the crime at the hotel at 201 Airgate Drive from Dec. 7 to Dec. 29.
A doctor's office on the 900 block of S.E. Cary Parkway reported signs of an attempted forcible-entry burglary Saturday morning.
Cary police arrested Jamari Lavaugh Legore, 17, Saturday on a charge of forcible-entry burglary. Legore, of 1600 Golden Horseshoe Circle in Morrisville, is accused of forcibly entering an apartment on the 1100 block of Glendon Way in November. The department has charged him with the theft of an Xbox 360 game console. Also, on the night of the burglary, the victim found a book bag baking in the apartment's oven; police investigated for attempted arson, but have not announced an arson charge for Legore. The investigation remains open.
Holly Springs A resident of Trotter Bluffs Drive reported being the victim of identity theft between Jan. 2 and Jan. 12.
